Nepali wearable brand Ultima Lifestyle has officially expanded its audio portfolio with the launch of the Ultima Aura. Marking a significant milestone for domestic tech brands, the Ultima Aura is the first TWS earbud in Nepal to feature official Sony LDAC codec certification and Hi-Res Wireless Audio support, all while carrying an aggressive introductory price tag of under NPR 4,000.
Distinctive Design and Comfort
The Ultima Aura adopts an ergonomic stem-style design paired with silicone ear tips to ensure a secure and comfortable in-ear fit during long listening sessions. Its compact charging case makes it easy to slip into pockets. Adding a unique touch to its build is a rotating crown control, giving users a tactile way to manage music playback and other key settings alongside a lightweight chassis.
Hi-Res Audio and Active Noise Cancellation
At its core, the earbuds are equipped with 11mm titanium drivers designed to deliver rich sound. Thanks to the Sony-certified LDAC codec support, users with compatible devices can stream high-resolution audio with finer details. The earbuds also support 3D Audio for a more immersive spatial listening experience.
For call quality and noise isolation, the Ultima Aura houses a six-microphone array that works in tandem with its Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system. Capable of cutting down unwanted background noise by up to 50dB, these earbuds are built to handle noisy environments like commutes and busy public spaces efficiently.
App Integration, Gaming, and Battery Life
Users can customize their listening experience via the companion Ultima Link app, which offers custom EQ adjustments and ANC toggles. Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 5.4, featuring dual-device pairing, a Find My Device tool, and a 40ms low-latency gaming mode for reduced audio lag.
In terms of endurance, the Ultima Aura boasts a combined battery life of up to 50 hours with the case. A quick 10-minute charge delivers up to 180 minutes of playback time, though overall battery performance will depend on volume, ANC usage, and codec settings.
Behind the Sony LDAC Certification
According to Ultima Lifestyle Founder Amit Agarwal, securing the Sony LDAC license involved a substantial investment of around NPR 35 to 40 lakh, alongside recurring annual fees and per-unit licensing costs. Sony enforces strict quality benchmarks, requiring certified products to use high-tier Bluetooth chipsets from vendors like Qualcomm or BES rather than lower-cost alternatives.
