Smartwatches continue to be among the most sought-after tech wearables, with Apple maintaining a dominant position in the market. In Nepal, Apple Watches remain the premier choice for buyers looking for a high-end smartwatch experience. Authorized retail channels across the country currently stock ten different Apple Watch variants, including older models like the Series 7 and Series 8 alongside newer options like the SE 3, Series 11, Series 12, Ultra 2, Ultra 3, and Ultra 4. While local pricing carries a slight premium compared to US market rates, buyers gain the assurance of genuine VAT invoices and official warranty coverage.
Apple Watch SE 3: Upgraded Entry-Level Experience
The Apple Watch SE 3 retains the familiar square design with a side button and Digital Crown, offered in 40mm and 44mm 100% recycled aluminum cases. Dropping the previous Silver finish, it now comes exclusively in Midnight and Starlight. The watch brings significant display upgrades, adding Always-on display functionality alongside 1,000 nits peak brightness and an Ion-X glass screen that is four times more crack-resistant than its predecessor. Water resistance stands at 50 meters, though dust resistance is omitted. Running watchOS 26, it offers 18 hours of typical battery life, extendable to 32 hours in Low Power Mode, with fast charging providing 8 hours of usage from a 15-minute top-up.
On the health tracking front, while features like ECG, blood oxygen monitoring, and hypertension alerts remain exclusive to premium models, the SE 3 introduces sleep apnea detection, Sleep Scores, and a temperature sensor for retrospective ovulation tracking.
Apple Watch Series 12: Refined Design and S11 Performance
Measuring just 9.7mm thick in standard 42mm and 46mm sizes (9.85mm for ceramic editions), the Apple Watch Series 12 introduces new material options. Aluminum models come in Dark Bronze, Light Gold, Black, and Space Gray; titanium versions offer Radiant Gold and Natural; while the return of ceramic brings Pearl White and Night Blue finishes. The device features an Always-On Retina LTPO3 wide-angle OLED display reaching 2,000 nits peak brightness and scaling down to 1 Hz. Protection is provided by Ceramic Shield 2 on aluminum models and sapphire front crystal on titanium and ceramic variants, complete with 50m water resistance and IP6X dust resistance.
Under the hood, the watch is powered by the Apple S11 processor with a 4-core Neural Engine, 64GB of storage, and 5G cellular capabilities. Battery endurance reaches 24 hours in standard mode and 38 hours in Low Power Mode, supported by rapid charging where 15 minutes provides up to 12 hours of power (or 5 minutes for 10 hours of sleep tracking). Health upgrades include center-positioned photodiodes measuring heart rate every five seconds, HRV tracking, a new Readiness score, and advanced AI features.
Apple Watch Ultra 4: Built for Extreme Durability
Crafted from Grade 5 titanium in Natural and Black, the Apple Watch Ultra 4 weighs roughly 63 grams and offers rugged protection certified with IP6X dust resistance, 100-meter water resistance, MIL-STD-810H standards, and recreational diving limits down to 40 meters. It sports a 1.98-inch LTPO3 Always-on Retina wide-angle OLED panel outputting up to 3,000 nits, shielded by sapphire crystal. Controls include the customizable Action button, haptic Digital Crown, and gesture controls such as double tap and wrist flick.
