Oppo has officially expanded its mid-range lineup with the launch of the Oppo A7 Pro in China. Serving as the direct successor to the A6 Pro and following the release of the A7 Pro Max, this new smartphone packs robust durability ratings, a high-refresh OLED screen, and an unusually large battery capacity.
Design and Display
The Oppo A7 Pro features a body measuring 8.8mm in thickness and weighing approximately 205 grams. The rear design features a horizontal pill-shaped camera module that houses the lens, an LED flash, and an IR blaster. Buyers can choose from three distinct color options: Riding the Waves, Every Step Blossoms, and Desert Brown. For protection against elements, it carries IP66, IP68, and IP69K ratings, making it resistant to high-pressure and high-temperature water jets as well as dust entry.
On the front, the smartphone sports a 6.57-inch flexible OLED screen with a 2372 x 1080 resolution. It supports a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate for improved gaming responsiveness, 10-bit color depth, and a peak brightness level of 1,400 nits for outdoor clarity.
Performance and Software
Powering the device is MediaTek's Dimensity 6360 Max processor, which reaches clock speeds up to 2.4GHz. The chip is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage, with support for card-based storage expansion. To keep thermals in check during heavy usage, Oppo has built in a 4,300mm² vapor chamber cooling system.
Software duties are handled by ColorOS 16 built on Android 16. It includes built-in AI fraud protection utilities such as scam call alerts, AI face-swap detection, and cross-application monitoring.
Cameras and Battery
For photos and videos, the back panel carries a single 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.9 aperture, autofocus support, and up to 10x digital zoom capabilities. On the front, there is an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls.
The headline feature of the phone is its massive 8,000mAh battery, built for multi-day usage and long power sessions. Charging is supported via 45W wired fast charging.
Price and Expected Availability in Nepal
In China, the Oppo A7 Pro starts at CNY 2,199 for the base 6GB + 256GB model, while the higher 8GB + 256GB version is priced at CNY 2,499. Although an official launch timeline for Nepal has not been announced yet, should it arrive locally, the expected price in Nepal is estimated at around NPR 49,499 for the 6GB variant and NPR 56,299 for the 8GB variant.
