Apple has officially expanded its flagship mobile lineup by introducing the iPhone 18 Pro alongside the 18 Pro Max, Duo, and Watch Series 12. While keeping its signature exterior styling, the phone brings noteworthy internal enhancements in processing, display usability, thermal management, and camera technology, backed by iOS 27 and expanded Apple Intelligence support.
Design and Display Upgrades
The iPhone 18 Pro maintains an aluminum build paired with a color-matched glass back in four distinct finishes: Black, Silver, Glacier, and Burgundy. To accommodate upgraded camera hardware—including a 48MP variable-aperture setup—and a larger battery, the device is slightly thicker than the iPhone 17 Pro.
On the front sits a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display featuring ProMotion technology with adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz and peak brightness reaching 3,000 nits. It retains essential features like Always-On display, True Tone, HDR, and an anti-reflective coating.
The Dynamic Island receives its first major redesign, shrinking by 35% in width to offer more usable screen area. It now supports up to three simultaneous Live Activities—up from two in previous models—making real-time tracking of timers, sports scores, or deliveries much more convenient.
Next-Gen 2nm A20 Pro Silicon
Powering the iPhone 18 Pro is Apple's new A20 Pro chipset, built on a cutting-edge 2nm process. The processor houses a 6-core CPU featuring two Super Cores that are up to 20% faster, along with four high-efficiency cores. Graphics tasks are handled by a 7-core GPU that delivers up to 40% superior performance compared to the A19 Pro, supported by integrated Neural Accelerators and 50% greater memory bandwidth.
For machine learning and computational photography, the chip incorporates a Dual 16-core Neural Engine (32 cores total). This doubles on-device AI performance, driving the next generation of Apple Intelligence features natively on the phone.
Advanced Cooling for Sustained Workloads
To keep thermal throttling at bay, Apple revamped the interior cooling architecture. The memory silicon is repositioned alongside the main chip rather than over it, connecting directly to a vapor chamber that offers triple the surface area of the iPhone 17 Pro. Constructed using copper, graphite, and recycled stainless steel, this thermal system delivers up to 40% higher sustained performance under heavy gaming or demanding multi-tasking.
Expected Price and Availability in Nepal
The iPhone 18 Pro is scheduled to launch in Nepal in the coming period. Official pricing and local release details will be confirmed once authorized distributors make their announcement.
