Huawei has officially launched the Watch D2 in the Nepali market, bringing a specialized wearable focused on advanced health tracking. Standing out from standard smartwatches, this device highlights continuous 24/7 ambulatory blood pressure monitoring alongside an array of medical-grade sensors.
Design and Display
The Huawei Watch D2 features a body measuring 48 × 38 × 13.3mm. To facilitate accurate pressure tracking, it incorporates an ultra-narrow 26.5mm mechanical airbag within its slim frame. It comes in Black and Gold finishes, paired with either a sporty black fluoroelastomer band or a white composite leather strap. On the front, it boasts a 1.82-inch AMOLED screen delivering a 480 × 408 resolution, 347 PPI pixel density, and up to 1500 nits of peak brightness.
Advanced Health Tracking
The standout highlight of the Watch D2 is its continuous ambulatory blood pressure tracking. The smartwatch automatically collects pressure readings across day, night, and sleeping hours, offering comprehensive average reports. Users can also trigger instant manual readings directly from their wrist. Beyond blood pressure, the watch packs extensive hardware, including an optical heart rate sensor, ECG, 9-axis IMU, barometer, ambient light sensor, and skin temperature sensor. A single tap allows users to check up to 9 different health indicators simultaneously. Additionally, it integrates Huawei TruSleep technology and stress tracking for holistic wellness management.
Battery Life and Durability
In terms of durability, the Watch D2 carries an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. While it protects against everyday splashes, Huawei specifically notes it is not built for swimming, hot showers, or high-pressure water activities. Battery longevity depends heavily on usage: standard operation yields up to 6 days, but enabling continuous blood pressure tracking reduces the runtime to roughly 1 day. Recharging is handled via standard wireless charging.
Smart Features and Compatibility
Equipped with Bluetooth 5.2, the smartwatch is compatible with smartphones running Android 8.0+ or iOS 13.0+. It features NFC capabilities (subject to regional service support in Nepal), a rotating crown, function pushers, and an integrated speaker and microphone for Bluetooth calling.
