Huawei has expanded its flagship smartwatch portfolio with the launch of the Huawei Watch 6 series, introducing both the standard Watch 6 and the Watch 6 Pro. The new lineup focuses on premium durability, extremely bright screens, and advanced wellness monitoring for users.
Design and Build Quality
Retaining the traditional circular watch face, the Watch 6 series features a rotating crown along with a physical side button. The base Watch 6 arrives in two sizes: a 42mm model with an aluminum alloy chassis weighing roughly 38g, and a 46mm edition with a stainless-steel casing weighing 60g. On the other hand, the Watch 6 Pro comes in a 43mm option featuring a full ceramic body (approx. 50g) and a 46mm variant built with a titanium front case and ceramic back (approx. 57g), excluding straps.
Both smartwatches are built to endure harsh conditions, carrying an IP69 rating, 5 ATM water resistance, and support for diving down to 40 meters deep.
Display Tech
The 42mm Watch 6 and 43mm Watch 6 Pro sport a 1.38-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED screen, whereas the 46mm variants pack a larger 1.5-inch panel. Every model shares a 466 x 466-pixel resolution and can achieve up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness, offering excellent outdoor legibility under direct sunlight.
Health and Fitness Tracking
The lineup introduces Huawei's X-TAP sensor setup, which pairs a 12-channel PPG sensor with a dedicated pressure sensor. Its Health Glance utility can analyze 14 different health parameters—including ECG, heart rate, SpO₂, skin temperature, and respiratory metrics—in about 60 seconds. In select regions, users can also access preliminary risk evaluation studies for hypertension, diabetes, and coronary heart disease for reference.
For sports and workouts, the wearables offer over 100 exercise modes paired with integrated GNSS positioning, making them suitable for activities like running, cycling, swimming, and open-water diving.
Battery Life and Connectivity
The larger 46mm models deliver up to 4.5 days of typical battery life, 3 days with Always-On Display (AOD) enabled, and up to 11 days in power-saver mode. The 42mm and 43mm editions last up to 3 days under typical use, 2 days with AOD, and up to 7 days in battery-saver mode. Wireless fast charging is supported via Huawei’s 2nd Gen Watch Wireless SuperCharger.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth calling with built-in speaker and microphone, Wi-Fi, NFC, GNSS, and eSIM support on select models. Users can also access wrist notifications, music playback controls, and navigation features directly from the watch.
