Overview and Build
Vivo has officially expanded its smartphone lineup in China with the launch of the Vivo Y600. The device stands out in the mid-range segment by offering a massive battery capacity alongside rugged durability. It comes in three color options: Sapphire Blue, Diamond Gold, and Obsidian Black. The blue and black versions measure 8.59mm in thickness, while the gold edition is slightly thicker at 8.69mm.
For durability, the handset comes with dual IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. Vivo reports that the device has successfully passed seven military-standard environmental tests, including extreme-temperature exposure and drop-impact resistance.
Display and Performance
On the front, the Vivo Y600 sports a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2800 x 1260 pixels). The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR playback, and 10-bit color depth for enhanced visual vibrancy. To reduce eye strain during prolonged screen time, Vivo has integrated eye-care technology alongside automatic brightness adjustment.
Under the hood, the smartphone is driven by a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300e chipset. Memory options go up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Vivo offers the phone in four distinct memory configurations, starting with a base variant of 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Software-wise, it runs on OriginOS 6 based on Android.
Battery, Charging, and Cameras
The primary highlight of the Vivo Y600 is its huge 10,000mAh battery, which significantly exceeds the standard capacity found in most modern smartphones. It supports 44W wired fast charging as well as reverse wired charging functionality to supply power to other gadgets. According to company lab tests, the battery is rated to retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,400 full charge cycles.
For optics, the back panel houses a single 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and autofocus capabilities. Up front, an 8MP camera with an f/2.05 aperture handles selfies and video calling duties.
