TCL P80 Ultra Launched with NXTPAPER AMOLED Screen: Features and Expected Price in Nepal

TCL has officially launched its newest smartphone, the P80 Ultra, starting with its rollout in the UK. The device stands out by merging a high-end AMOLED panel with the company's proprietary NXTPAPER display technology, designed to offer a vibrant yet comfortable viewing experience in a single package.

Display and Design

The P80 Ultra comes equipped with a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. It boasts minimal 1.38mm bezels for an immersive experience alongside a 2,560Hz instant touch response rate. To enhance eye comfort, TCL integrated its NXTPAPER tech, which adds a nano-etched anti-glare coating and up to 95% circular polarization to minimize reflections. The panel incorporates DC dimming for high brightness levels and 3,840Hz PWM dimming for lower light, as well as Paper Mode and Max Ink Mode for e-reader functionality.

Co-designed with materials specialist Chris Lefteri, the chassis features a satin-smooth rear panel offered in Midnight Blue, Burgundy, and Sunlit Gold. For durability, it carries an IP68 dust and water resistance rating and utilizes Nano Crystal Shield Glass with a nano-etched finish.

Performance and Software

Powering the smartphone is the upper-midrange MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Elite chipset. It is paired with 8GB of RAM (with support for up to 16GB of virtual RAM expansion) and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The P80 Ultra ships with Android 16, and TCL promises four major OS version updates along with seven years of security patches.

Additional hardware highlights include dual stereo speakers with DTS Cinematic Surround Sound, a 360-degree surround antenna structure, and cross-platform file sharing with iOS devices via the TCL Link application.

Camera and Battery

In the camera department, the rear setup comprises a 50MP 1/1.56-inch primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera featuring both OIS and EIS, and an 8MP ultrawide lens. The periscope lens supports up to 6x lossless zoom and telephoto macro mode. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera backed by TCL's imaging algorithms, including AI Motion Capture, Color Palette, and MuseFilm filters.

The device is backed by a 5,800mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging. TCL has included an adaptive smart power-saving engine, with internal testing recording up to 45 hours of calling, 23 hours of video streaming, or 15 hours of gaming.

Expected Price in Nepal

While the TCL P80 Ultra has currently debuted in the UK, details regarding its official Nepal availability have not yet been announced. If it arrives in the Nepali market, the expected starting price for the TCL P80 Ultra is anticipated to be in the upper-midrange bracket.
