Xiaomi introduced the Redmi A5 4G in Nepal a few months ago, bundling it with a 2-year official warranty. However, purchasing this budget handset now costs a bit more. The device has received its second price revision in the market, driven primarily by ongoing global hikes in RAM prices.

Design-wise, the Redmi A5 features a clean aesthetic with a modern flat frame and an eye-catching golden ring around its camera module. Up front, it sports a large 6.88-inch LCD display with 720p (HD+) resolution, a high 120Hz refresh rate, 450 nits of peak brightness, and 70% NTSC color gamut support. It delivers a solid visual experience for general media consumption at this price point. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner is also present for fast unlocking.
Adjusted Camera Setup
In terms of optics, Xiaomi upgraded the selfie camera to an 8MP sensor compared to the 5MP shooter found in previous generations. In terms of overall power, it delivers performance on par with the Helio G81 Ultra found in the Redmi A3 Pro, though it falls short of the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 used in the Redmi A4. It remains reliable for basic app usage and routine light tasks.
A strong 5,200mAh battery fuels the smartphone, accompanied by 15W charging support that can easily get light users through a full day. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, a USB Type-C port, and a classic 3.5mm headphone jack.
Redmi A5 Price in Nepal and Availability
With the recent price increase, the Redmi A5 4G now starts at NPR 14,999 for the base 3GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration. The higher 4GB RAM and 128GB storage trim is priced at NPR 16,999. The device comes backed by Xiaomi's 2-year warranty and is available for purchase across mobile retail stores throughout Nepal.
