Nothing's latest mid-range offering, the Nothing Phone (4a), officially arrived in Nepal about a month ago. Known for its distinct design language, the device brings several notable upgrades over its predecessor. However, driven by the ongoing global memory shortage, the smartphone has now seen its fourth price hike in Nepal within three months.
Transparent Design and New Glyph Bar
Maintaining the brand's signature see-through look seen on the Phone (2a) and Phone (3a), the main visual update on the Phone (4a) is its new "Glyph Bar." Located near the camera module, this programmable LED light strip signals notifications, incoming calls, charging progress, and camera timers without requiring you to turn on the main display. The phone retains a plastic frame and adds a dedicated AI button on the left side for quick actions.
1.5K Display and Performance Upgrades
The display gets a major upgrade to a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel (up from FHD+ on the Phone 3a) with a 120Hz refresh rate, 4500 nits peak brightness, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and HDR10+ support. Under the hood, it is powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 5G processor. The chip features a prime Cortex-A720 core at 2.7 GHz, three Cortex-A720 performance cores at 2.4 GHz, and four Cortex-A520 power-saving cores at 1.8 GHz.
It is paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage—a solid upgrade from the previous generation's UFS 2.2. Out of the box, the phone runs Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16.
Periscope Camera and Battery
For the first time on a base 'a' series phone, Nothing has included a 3.5x periscope telephoto camera. The rear setup consists of a 50MP Samsung GN9 main sensor, a 50MP Samsung JN5 3.5x periscope lens, and an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultrawide camera. Video recording is capped at 4K @ 30 fps due to processor limitations, while the front features a 32MP selfie shooter.
In Nepal, the device packs a 5080 mAh Lithium-ion battery with 50W wired fast charging (whereas the Indian variant gets a 5400mAh unit). Connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
Nothing Phone (4a) Price in Nepal and Availability
Following the fourth price adjustment, the Nothing Phone (4a) starts at NPR 69,999 for the 8/128GB variant and goes up to NPR 83,999 for the 12/256GB version. The phone is available for purchase across various authorized retail stores in Nepal.
