Insta360's compact action camera lineup made a major splash in Nepal with the official launch of the Insta360 GO Ultra. Moving away from the pill-shaped form factor seen on the GO 3S, this tiny shooter introduces a brand-new square design alongside major internal upgrades, including a larger sensor and high-frame-rate 4K capture.
Redesigned Square Form Factor
The GO Ultra ditches previous designs for a neat square chassis measuring 1.8 inches × 1.8 inches. It feels slightly more solid in hand, weighing 53 grams—about 14 grams heavier than its predecessor. Docking the camera into its Action Pod (which serves as both a screen preview and charger) brings the total weight to 110 grams. Even when combined with the pod, it remains lighter than rival action cameras like the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro and Insta360's own Ace Pro 2.
Upgraded Camera Sensor and Recording Modes
Image quality receives a massive boost thanks to a 1/1.28-inch sensor that is 221% larger (more than double the size) compared to the GO 3S. This sensor works alongside a 5nm chipset and an ambient light sensor to deliver vastly improved low-light performance.
For video recording, the GO Ultra supports up to 4K resolution at 60 fps, 4K at 30 fps with Active HDR, and high-speed 1080p recording up to 240 fps for super slow-motion shots. Still photos jump up to 50MP resolution with RAW format support, offering great flexibility for photo editing.
Battery, Storage, and Accessory System
The standalone camera houses a 500mAh built-in battery providing roughly 70 minutes of standalone recording time. When paired with the Action Pod, total battery life extends up to 200 minutes at lower capture settings. The camera unit itself features IPX8 water resistance down to 33 feet (10 meters) and supports microSD expansion up to 2TB.
Mounting options are versatile: the camera features a magnetic rear body to attach directly to metal surfaces. Insta360 also offers an upgraded magnetic pendant for chest mounting, sticky tabs, and a kid-friendly hat clip. Software features include clip editing via the Insta360 app and the ability to overlay fitness metrics from Strava or compatible smartwatches.

The official price of the Insta360 GO Ultra in Nepal is NPR 72,500 for the Standard bundle and NPR 85,000 for the Creator bundle. Note that the lower-priced Standard bundle is currently unavailable, meaning buyers must go with the Creator package for now. The camera can be purchased through Insta360-authorized retail outlets across Nepal.
