Huawei has officially expanded its flagship smartphone lineup with the introduction of the Huawei Pura 90 Plus in China. Positioned as a camera-centric flagship alongside the rest of the Pura 90 series, this new device emphasizes mobile photography while bringing a boosted chipset and a larger battery capacity.
Design and Display
The Huawei Pura 90 Plus sports a sleek build featuring a rounded frame and a signature triangular camera module on the rear panel. The smartphone measures 163mm in height, 76.1mm in width, and 8.3mm in thickness, weighing around 220 grams with the battery included. Color options include Sunset Purple, Dawn Gold, Snow White, and Obsidian Black.
For visuals, the phone features a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED front display with a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate to balance smooth performance and power usage. It offers a screen resolution of 2,848 × 1,276 pixels and comes protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass.
Camera Capabilities
Camera performance remains a key highlight of the Pura 90 Plus. It houses a triple rear camera setup backed by Huawei's XMAGE imaging technology. This includes a 50MP primary sensor with a 1-inch-type size and variable aperture, a 48MP telephoto lens with macro photography support, and a 40MP ultrawide camera. A 13MP sensor sits on the front for selfies and video calls.
Performance and Battery
Under the hood, the device is driven by the Kirin 9025 chipset, offering performance upgrades over previous generations. It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. On the software front, it runs on HarmonyOS 7, featuring Huawei's Celia voice assistant and a storage optimization feature.
The phone relies on a 5,700mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging along with 80W wireless charging. It also supports two-way BeiDou satellite messaging within China for emergency communication without cellular connectivity.
