Just a short time following the launch of the Realme 16 5G in Nepal, details regarding the brand's next-generation lineup have already surfaced online. Initial leaks reveal key hardware specifications for the upcoming Realme 17 Pro series—potentially the standard Realme 17 Pro or the higher-end Realme 17 Pro+—highlighting impressive upgrades in display smoothness and battery endurance over its predecessors.
Flat 165Hz AMOLED Display and Design Shift
According to the leaked reports, the device will feature a flat AMOLED display boasting a 1.5K resolution. While the screen is expected to run at 120Hz during everyday tasks, it will reportedly support up to a 165Hz refresh rate in compatible games. This indicates a design shift away from the curved display found on the Realme 16 Pro+, opting for a completely flat front glass instead.
Additionally, the phone is tipped to utilize a plastic middle frame, resembling the build of the Realme 16 Pro. However, if these specifications apply to the Realme 17 Pro+, this could be seen as a step down, given that the Realme 16 Pro+ utilized an aluminum frame. It is currently unconfirmed whether this frame design will apply to both models or just one.
Upgraded Processor and Camera System
Under the hood, the Realme 17 Pro series is rumored to pack the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chipset. If this processor lands on the standard Realme 17 Pro, it will mark a clear performance boost compared to the Dimensity 7300 Max chip seen in the Realme 16 Pro. Software and UI features have not yet been detailed.
For photography, the leaks suggest a high-resolution 200MP primary sensor coupled with a 50MP telephoto camera offering 3.5x optical zoom, alongside an ultrawide lens. The overall camera module aesthetics are expected to draw inspiration from the Realme 16 Pro+, though it remains uncertain if both variants in the series will share identical camera hardware.
Huge 10,000mAh Battery Capacity
Perhaps the most eye-catching feature of the leak is a massive 10,000mAh battery. This would be a significant upgrade compared to the 7,000mAh battery packed into the Realme 16 Pro series (as well as the Realme 16x 5G, which offered a 144Hz display alongside its 7,000mAh cell). Details regarding fast charging capabilities and connectivity remain unknown.
Price and Availability in Nepal
Since Realme has not officially announced the Realme 17 Pro series, official details regarding launch dates, exact pricing, and availability in Nepal have not been finalized. If the lineup makes its way to the Nepali market, local pricing will likely depend on the final memory configurations and hardware specs.
