Camera stability is handled by 360° HorizonSteady, which automatically corrects horizontal tilts at any angle, alongside Rocksteady 3.0 stabilization for smooth footage even when recording at 4K 120fps.

The device sports a compact rectangular design weighing 145 grams. It offers standalone waterproofing down to 18 meters without additional housing, provided the USB-C port, battery door, and glass lens cover are firmly shut. Deep-water divers can use an optional protective case rated for depths up to 60 meters. Additionally, the camera is built to withstand extreme cold environments down to -20°C. Navigating settings is handled via a dual-touchscreen arrangement: a primary 2.25-inch display on the rear and a 1.4-inch front screen. Since the unit lacks built-in GPS, users can optionally purchase a GPS Bluetooth Remote Controller that can be worn like a wristwatch and features a built-in mini display for remote controls and telemetry.

Powering the Osmo Action 4 is a 1770 mAh LiPo 1S battery, delivering up to 2.6 hours of operating time and supporting fast charging technology. Wireless options cover Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 BLE, while storage is expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card.
