Xiaomi has expanded its tablet portfolio in China with the launch of the flagship Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max, introduced alongside the Xiaomi 18 Fold. This premium device marks the debut of Xiaomi’s in-house Xring O3 chipset on a tablet, aiming to deliver top-tier productivity and media consumption capabilities.

Sleek Design and Display

Crafted with a sleek metal unibody design, the tablet measures 296.2 x 203.08 x 5.67mm. The standard model weighs 645 grams, whereas the matte Soft Light Screen variant comes in at 653 grams. Color options include Rich Wine Red, Black, and Silver.

On the front, it sports a large 13.3-inch LCD panel with a 3408 x 2272 resolution, a 3:2 aspect ratio, and a fast 144Hz refresh rate. It delivers up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness and precise color accuracy with a Delta E of roughly 0.47. For users seeking reduced glare, the Soft Light Screen option incorporates a nano-textured surface for enhanced viewing comfort.

Flagship Performance

Powering the device is the new Xring O3 silicon, featuring a 10-core CPU clocked up to 4.35GHz combined with a 16-core G2-Ultra NX GPU. Xiaomi claims this setup offers up to an 85% jump in GPU performance and 64% lower energy consumption compared to its predecessor, delivering speed that approaches Apple's M5 desktop architecture. The tablet supports up to 16GB of LPDDR6 memory (113.8GB/s bandwidth) and up to 1TB of internal storage.

Multimedia, Battery, and Features

Imaging is handled by a 50MP main rear camera and a 32MP front sensor optimized for video calling. Audio is powered by an eight-speaker setup and six microphones enhanced with Dolby Atmos technology. Fueling the unit is a massive 12,000mAh battery supporting 120W wired fast charging and reverse wired charging support.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 and a full-featured USB-C port with DisplayPort input, allowing the tablet to act as an external monitor. It runs HyperOS 4 out of the box, supporting up to six active app windows at once alongside pro-level applications like WPS for Pad, CapCut Pro, and Pixel Cake. It also offers compatibility with the Focus Stylus Pro and TourBox creative accessories.
