iQOO has officially introduced its newest gaming-focused tablet, the iQOO Pad Ultra, alongside the iQOO 16 in China. Tailored for heavy gaming, this compact device comes packed with flagship-tier internals, an active cooling setup, and a high refresh rate display.
Design and Display
The tablet features an 8.8-inch AMOLED panel boasting a resolution of 2304 x 1440 pixels. It supports a smooth 165Hz refresh rate, a 500Hz multi-touch sampling rate, and an instantaneous touch response rate of up to 5,000Hz. Designed with thin 2.65mm bezels, it achieves a 93.3% screen-to-body ratio. Brightness reaches up to 1,600 nits globally and peaks at 4,500 nits locally, alongside 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and HDR10+ support.
Encased in a slim 5.74mm metal unibody weighing 298g, the Pad Ultra features a gaming-themed rear design complete with an illuminated light strip surrounding the camera module. The corner camera layout ensures comfortable landscape handling during long gaming sessions. Color choices include Star Armor Silver and Shadow Black.
Performance and Active Cooling
Powering the iQOO Pad Ultra is Qualcomm's 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, coupled with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 internal storage. It also houses iQOO's custom Q4 gaming chip to boost graphics, providing ray tracing, frame interpolation, super-resolution, and support for 2K resolution gameplay at up to 165 FPS in compatible titles.
To maintain peak performance under load, it integrates a five-layer active cooling architecture. This setup features a 30 x 30 x 3.5mm built-in fan with three operational modes (low-noise, smart, and high-speed), dual vapor chambers, a CPU copper block, and high-conductivity copper fins, offering a total heat dissipation area of 23,253 mm².
Software and Gaming Features
Running OriginOS 7 HD, the tablet utilizes the Monster Super Core Engine, which includes a custom scheduler, performance accelerator, power-efficiency controller, and Monster mode. Audio-tactile feedback is delivered via dual X-axis linear motors providing 4D vibration, complemented by a high-sensitivity gyroscope offering a 500Hz sampling rate and Q-flex touch technology to minimize latency. Extended gameplay is sustained by a massive 9,020mAh battery.
