Three years after releasing the Space One in 2023, Anker has officially launched its successor, the Soundcore Space 2, in the US market. Positioned as a versatile mid-range over-ear headset, this new iteration brings notable upgrades in audio performance, active noise cancellation, and wireless connectivity.
Weighing just 264 grams—making it 1 gram lighter than its predecessor—the Space 2 is built around a lightweight soft-touch plastic chassis with a refined matte finish. The ear cushions feature soft protein leather for added comfort. To accommodate over 2,000 different head shapes, the design incorporates 8-degree rotating earcups that swivel flat, alongside a foldable hinge for easy storage while traveling.
Audio Performance and Connectivity
Under the hood, the Soundcore Space 2 upgrades from standard audio drivers to an advanced 40mm double-layered diaphragm driver for superior sound detail. Users can choose between wired playback and wireless listening via Bluetooth 6.1 with dual-device connection support. For high-resolution wireless streaming on compatible Android devices, the headphones support the LDAC codec (up to 990 kbps) alongside standard SBC and AAC codecs.
Adaptive ANC 3.0 and Call Clarity
Active noise cancellation receives a major boost with Adaptive ANC 3.0. This updated system samples ambient noise every 0.3 seconds and uses AI algorithms to detect sound leakage, offering up to 2x stronger voice reduction (similar to the noise-canceling tech found in the Liberty 5). For voice calls, the headset retains a 3-microphone setup paired with AI noise reduction to ensure clear communication in loud environments.
Battery Life and Features
While Anker has not disclosed the exact milliamp-hour capacity, the headset offers up to 70 hours of playback with ANC turned off, and up to 50 hours with ANC enabled. A quick 5-minute charge delivers up to 4 hours of listening time. Through the companion Soundcore App, users can customize an 8-band EQ and access an AI assistant named Anka, which provides real-time translation in over 100 languages.
