OnePlus has officially expanded its audio lineup with the global unveiling of the flagship OnePlus Buds Pro 4 wireless earbuds. The new premium TWS comes with several notable upgrades over its predecessor, incorporating Dynaudio acoustic tuning, upgraded noise cancellation, and intelligent AI features.
Design and Build Quality
The OnePlus Buds Pro 4 showcases a refined design with a pebble-inspired charging case that sports a matte finish accented by a metallic ring detailing. Buyers can select between two color options: Titanium Shadow and Polar White. The earbuds themselves carry an IP55 rating for water and dust resistance, making them well-suited for daily wear and light workout sessions, though the charging case does not feature an official IP rating.
To ensure maximum comfort and an effective acoustic seal, OnePlus analyzed over 2,800 ear canal profiles to design hybrid silicone foam ear tips. The package includes four tip sizes—XS, S, M, and L—allowing users to find the ideal fit for effective noise isolation.
Audio Performance and Specs
At the core of the audio setup is an 11mm composite woofer paired with a 6mm planar tweeter. Each driver is driven by an independent DAC, with overall sound tuning calibrated in collaboration with Dynaudio. OnePlus highlights that this configuration delivers 50% greater bass driving force compared to the Buds Pro 3, alongside cleaner high frequencies and superior instrument separation.
For high-resolution wireless streaming, the earbuds support LHDC 5.0, delivering up to 24-bit/192kHz audio at a transmission bitrate of 1Mbps, alongside AAC, SBC, and LC3 codecs. Personalized playback is enabled via Golden Sound, which generates a tailored profile based on individual ear anatomy and hearing thresholds. Spatial Audio with head tracking is also built-in for an immersive listening experience.
Noise Cancellation and Call Quality
The earbuds feature Pro Adaptive Noise Cancellation powered by real-time environmental recognition, dynamically adjusting suppression levels to fit your surroundings. According to OnePlus, the Buds Pro 4 can block up to twice as much unwanted ambient noise and offers 2.5 times better voice noise reduction than the previous generation. For voice calls, a three-microphone array works alongside a Voice Pickup Unit (VPU) bone-conduction sensor and AI noise reduction to keep voice clarity intact in noisy settings.
Connectivity and Smart Features
Equipped with modern Bluetooth 6.1, the Buds Pro 4 supports dual-device pairing, Google Fast Pair, and Microsoft Swift Pair. Additional software functionalities include AI Live Translation, Clear Audio Recording with Dolby processing, Google Gemini voice assistant access, and Neck Health monitoring. Including the charging case, the earbuds deliver up to 53 hours of total playback time.
