Oppo has expanded its smartphone lineup in Nepal with the official launch of the Reno 16 series, succeeding last year's Reno 15 family. Positioned as an endurance-focused upper mid-ranger, the standard Oppo Reno 16 brings a robust build, upgraded processing power, and an impressive battery capacity to the market.
Design and Display
The Oppo Reno 16 features a premium aesthetic crafted with a glass front and a 3D textured glass back, complemented by a flat aluminum alloy frame with ultra-narrow bezels. It also introduces a customizable action button on the left edge for quick shortcut configuration. Depending on the variant, the handset measures between 8.2mm and 8.36mm in thickness and weighs either 182g or 193g. Durability is a major highlight, as the phone carries comprehensive IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance. It comes in Pop White, Twilight Violet, and Dream Purple shade options.
Up front, the device houses a 6.32-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen supporting a high 120Hz refresh rate. The display reaches up to 1800 nits of high brightness mode (HBM) for clear outdoor visibility and incorporates 3840Hz PWM dimming to ensure eye comfort during prolonged usage.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Oppo Reno 16 is driven by Qualcomm's 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 system-on-chip, built for smooth multitasking and extended gaming sessions. The phone is available with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of fast UFS 3.1 internal storage.
On the software side, it runs ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. Oppo offers long-term software support for the handset, promising five major OS updates alongside six years of security patches.
Cameras and Battery
For photography, the Reno 16 incorporates a square rear camera module carrying a 50MP primary sensor (f/1.8), a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS, and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor (f/2.0). On the front, a 50MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture and autofocus handles self-portraits and video calling.
Powering the device is a massive 6,700mAh battery engineered for multi-day usage, which pairs with 80W fast wired charging for quick refills.
