Overview and Updated Nepal Pricing
Following its initial launch in Nepal by official distributor CG Mobiles back in April, the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro has now received its second price adjustment. The higher-end 12GB RAM and 256GB storage edition is currently priced at NPR 99,999. It is available in three colorways—Silver, Black, and Pink—and can be purchased across authorized Nothing retailers in the country.
Upgraded Glyph Matrix and Build
Replacing the setup found on earlier models like the Phone (3), the Phone (4a) Pro brings back the circular Glyph Matrix interface. The revised module covers 57% more area and reaches roughly 3000 nits of peak brightness, making it twice as bright for clearer notifications. It supports Glyph Toys such as the Digital Clock, Timer, Battery indicator, Solar Path, and Glyph Mirror, along with full integration into the Always-On Display (AOD). Design-wise, the phone moves away from the transparent back of the Phone (3a) Pro in favor of a clean flat rear aesthetic with a distinct camera bump, supported by a sturdy aluminum frame.
Display and Processing Power
On the front, the handset sports a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display featuring an adaptive refresh rate between 30Hz and 144Hz. It offers 2160Hz PWM dimming, HDR10+ support, 10-bit color, up to 5000 nits of peak brightness, and protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
Under the hood, the device runs on Qualcomm's 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. The CPU layout includes 1x Kryo Prime core (Cortex-720 at 2800 MHz), 4x Kryo Gold cores (Cortex-720 at 2400 MHz), and 3x Kryo Silver cores (Cortex-520 at 1840 MHz). It comes equipped with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM alongside 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. On the software side, it runs NothingOS 4.1 based on Android 16 out of the box.
Camera, Battery, and Connectivity
For photography, the device features a triple rear camera arrangement led by a 50MP Sony LYT 700C primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It is complemented by a 50MP Samsung JN5 periscope telephoto lens with 3.5X optical zoom and an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultrawide camera. For selfies, there is a 32MP front-facing camera. The enhanced ISP on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 helps deliver superior image processing compared to the standard model.
Powering the Nepali variant is a 5400mAh battery—larger than the 5080mAh capacity found in global units—with support for 50W fast charging. Connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS, and a USB-C port.
Value Proposition
The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro delivers strong performance with its bright 144Hz AMOLED panel, capable 3.5x telephoto lens, and clean software experience. However, with the revised price tag now pushing closer to the flagship Nothing Phone (3), prospective buyers may also want to evaluate whether spending slightly more for the Phone (3)'s superior processing, build durability, and camera hardware makes better financial sense.
