Lenovo has refreshed its lineup of compact workstations with the launch of the ThinkPad P14s Gen 6. Designed as a portable yet high-performance mobile workstation, the laptop keeps a similar aesthetic to the Gen 5 model, sporting a clean monotone finish, military-grade MIL-STD-810H certification for durability, and the signature red Trackpoint centered on the keyboard.
Display Quality
On the front, the laptop features a 14-inch WUXGA IPS panel. Depending on the chosen configuration, it offers either 400 nits or 500 nits of peak brightness along with 45% or 100% sRGB color gamut coverage. While adequate for everyday tasks and content viewing, the screen lacks a higher refresh rate and does not feature an OLED panel.
Performance and AI Processing
Powering the machine are AMD's Ryzen AI PRO 300 Series processors. The flagship configuration is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 370, which packs 12 cores, 24 threads, a max boost speed of 5.1 GHz, and a larger L3 cache for demanding tasks. Alternatively, the entry-tier variant comes with the Ryzen AI 7 Pro 350, featuring 8 cores, 16 threads, and up to 5.0 GHz boost clock speed.
To accelerate modern AI tasks directly on the device, the processor integrates a dedicated AMD Ryzen AI NPU capable of up to 80 TOPS of processing power.
Memory, Storage, and Battery
For memory, the laptop supports up to 64GB of dual-channel RAM running at 5600 MT/s, which can be upgraded up to a maximum of 96GB. Storage is provided via a single slot equipped with a 1TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD.
The Ryzen 7 model relies on a 52.5 Wh battery, while the Ryzen 9 edition comes with a slightly larger 57 Wh integrated battery. Both models ship with a 65W power adapter.
Ports and Connectivity
Connectivity options on the ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 include two USB 4 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports (one equipped with Always On functionality), an HDMI 2.1 port, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm audio combo jack.
