The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has released an official notice directing all affiliated and approved educational institutions to update and renew their registration records with their respective governing authorities within a 35-day timeframe.
This directive specifically targets institutions operating programs under CTEVT approval that were originally registered under Section 4 of the Institution Registration Act, 2034. This includes non-profit, social, public, community entities, trusts, foundations, and similar legal structures.
Restrictions on Company Registration and Ownership Transfers
Under the new notice, CTEVT explicitly bars these institutions from registering a separate private limited company (Pvt. Ltd.) under an identical or closely matching name without prior updating and renewal of their primary registration. Furthermore, institutions are strictly forbidden from transferring institutional names, shifting ownership, or buying and selling shares using a parallel private company structure.
Institutions seeking approval or affiliation for technical programs must also submit their formal requests under the exact legal status used when they initially secured their affiliation or approval.
Required Documentation and Submission Timeline
To comply with this mandate, eligible institutions must complete their registration updates with their primary registering authority. They are required to submit authentic, notary public-certified supporting documents to CTEVT within 35 days from the notice's publication date.
This decision follows a formal CTEVT office ruling made on Bhadra 26, 2083. CTEVT emphasized that non-compliant institutions failing to submit certified documentation within the designated 35-day period will face legal consequences under existing laws, which may include the immediate revocation or cancellation of their affiliation or program approval.
