Job Description

Australian College is seeking a detail-oriented Training and Assessment Compliance Specialist to join our team full-time in a remote role. Reporting directly to the Compliance Manager, you will take ownership of systematically rebuilding and refining our training and assessment (T&A) resources to ensure every unit of competency is fully mapped, verified, and completely audit-ready.

This is a specialized, methodical compliance role that requires deep analysis and structural documentation rather than basic document formatting or superficial instructional design. Working across a substantial backlog of qualifications, you will examine official unit requirements from training.gov.au, pinpoint non-compliance gaps in existing materials, and systematically resolve them.

Key Duties:

  • Map assessment instruments precisely against unit elements, performance criteria, foundation skills, evidence requirements, and assessment conditions to construct complete mapping matrices.
  • Rebuild and author updated assessment instruments, including knowledge questions, benchmark answers, project tasks, observation checklists, third-party reports, and marking guides.
  • Validate assessment tools against the core principles of assessment and rules of evidence.
  • Cross-verify benchmark solutions against current Australian sector regulations and legislation.
  • Maintain clear audit trails, robust version controls, and structured document histories for every modification.
  • Document and flag compliance risks transparently in writing, helping prepare materials for internal validations and external regulator audits.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in documentation, compliance, quality assurance, or curriculum development where precision is essential.
  • Superior written English skills capable of meeting Australian regulatory standards.
  • Exceptional, forensic attention to detail and ability to interpret dense regulatory frameworks.
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills (styles, headers/footers, tables, track changes, templates) and proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong self-direction to work productively in a remote environment without constant oversight.
  • A functional home office setup including a reliable computer, stable internet connection, and a contingency plan for power outages/load shedding.
  • Highly Regarded: Direct experience with Australian RTOs, ASQA compliance, training packages, or Standards for RTOs (2015/2025 Outcome Standards).
  • Highly Regarded: Holding a TAE40116 or TAE40122 qualification, experience with Student Management Systems (e.g., aXcelerate, VETtrak), or background leading validation processes.
