Job Description

Asseti Operations is seeking a meticulous and analytical Geospatial Surveyor to handle the processing, evaluation, and validation of drone imagery, LiDAR captures, and aerial datasets. In this role, you will turn raw spatial data into reliable, high-precision geospatial outputs while upholding rigorous quality control standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing photogrammetric aerial drone and LiDAR datasets to generate 3D models, point clouds, DSMs, DTMs, contours, and orthomosaics.
  • Inspecting imagery and spatial data for noise, exposure flaws, classification errors, overlap gaps, resolution consistency, and alignment problems.
  • Performing surface-to-surface analysis for earthwork, cut-and-fill, excavation, and stockpile volume computations.
  • Validating horizontal and vertical accuracy using ground control points (GCPs), survey controls, and independent checkpoints, followed by detailed accuracy validation reports.
  • Reviewing calibration parameters, reprojection settings, breaklines, and surface boundaries to ensure top-tier deliverable quality.
  • Documenting processing steps, metadata, QA results, and technical records.
  • Collaborating directly with engineers, survey teams, drone operators, and clients to align on project scope and address technical challenges.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and improve data processing procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Geospatial Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Practical background in surveying methodologies or field survey operations.
  • Demonstrated experience processing aerial/drone photogrammetry and LiDAR data to build elevation models, orthomosaics, and 3D surfaces.
  • Proven track record calculating stockpile volumes, cut-and-fill quantities, and earthwork measurements.
  • Deep understanding of coordinate reference systems, datums, map projections, geoid models, and survey control network setup.
  • Working knowledge of ground control point placement, accuracy tolerances, checkpoints, and error documentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in spotting spatial discrepancies and data quality defects.
