Samsung Nepal has announced a comprehensive exchange campaign, giving tech enthusiasts in Nepal an opportunity to trade in their old mobile devices for brand-new Galaxy smartphones while securing extra exchange bonuses of up to NPR 10,000. The promotional scheme caters to both feature phone users moving up to entry-level smartphones and existing smartphone owners upgrading to higher-tier Galaxy models.
Feature Phone Upgrade Offer
Under the basic phone upgrade scheme, buyers can hand over any-brand feature phone to receive a direct NPR 1,500 discount when purchasing the Samsung Galaxy A07, A07s, or Galaxy A08. Rather than waiting for a secondary payout, this bonus is applied directly as an instant discount on the customer's VAT invoice. To claim this, buyers simply hand in their old basic phone at an eligible retail location, where channel partners collect the device. The new handset's IMEI must be listed on the invoice, and the total count of collected feature phones must match the issued invoices.
Smartphone Trade-In Schemes
For users looking to replace an existing smartphone, Samsung Nepal accepts any-brand smartphone manufactured between 2019 and 2026. The exchange bonus varies depending on the specific new Samsung Galaxy device purchased:
Buying selected flagship Galaxy models unlocks the maximum bonus of NPR 10,000. Customers choosing the Galaxy A57, A37, or A27 receive an NPR 7,000 bonus, while opting for the Galaxy A17 or M17 5G provides an NPR 3,000 bonus.
Claim Process and Valuation Terms
To take advantage of the smartphone trade-in offer, customers must first buy an eligible Galaxy smartphone. Within seven days of the invoice purchase date, the buyer must visit a Samsung Brand Store, SES/SMS, or Samsung Authorized Service Center to finalize the exchange process.
At the center, Samsung's exchange evaluation partner, Sabkophone/IMS, assesses the old smartphone to establish its residual value. If the customer approves the offered price, they submit their old phone along with their bank details. IMS then transfers the phone's evaluated residual value plus the Samsung exchange bonus directly into the customer's bank account.
It is important to note that a 15% Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) applies specifically to the Samsung exchange bonus, meaning the final bonus received in the bank account will be slightly lower than the stated amount. However, TDS does not apply to the calculated residual valuation of the old device. Additionally, Samsung offers an instant trade-in system for direct purchases made through Samsung Brand Stores, SES/SMS, B2B sales, and IMS outlets.
