ZTE’s gaming-centric sub-brand, Nubia, has officially introduced the Nubia Neo 5 GT along with the Nubia Neo 5 GT Liquid Cooling Special Edition in Nepal. Designed specifically for heavy mobile gaming, the standard edition packs a built-in active cooling fan, while the Special Edition introduces an upgraded dual-active liquid and air cooling setup to keep thermal throttling at bay during extended play sessions.
Striking Gaming Design and 144Hz Display
The Nubia Neo 5 GT boasts a futuristic, gamer-focused exterior featuring a flat back panel for an ergonomic grip, a vertically aligned camera system, and customizable RGB lighting. It comes with an IP64 dust and splash resistance rating alongside Magic Touch 3.0 technology, ensuring touch response remains accurate even with wet or sweaty hands.
On the front, the smartphone sports a 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with an ultra-smooth 144Hz refresh rate and slim bezels. Ideal for high-graphics titles, the panel reaches a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits for an enhanced HDR viewing experience.
Advanced Cooling and Gaming Performance
Under the hood, the Neo 5 GT is driven by a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Nubia integrates its NeoTurbo Engine to optimize system efficiency and maintain stable frame rates. ZTE claims official certification for 120 FPS gameplay in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), achieving an average of 119.96 FPS. The device also handles games like PUBG, Free Fire, and CODM easily, though demanding titles like Genshin Impact may require medium graphics settings.
To maintain peak performance, the standard model utilizes a 29,508 mm² thermal dissipation system, an active cooling fan, and a Through-flow Duct Design, keeping peak temperatures at 38.9°C after an hour of heavy gaming. Meanwhile, the Special Edition debuts the AquaCore Cooling System, utilizing a piezoelectric micropump and a three-layer cooling film to circulate non-conductive coolant alongside the active fan.
For dedicated controls, the phone features 550Hz Neo Triggers 5.0 shoulder buttons, delivering four-finger control with under 5.5ms latency and a 3,049Hz touch sampling rate.
Camera, Battery, and Software
Despite its gaming focus, the handset carries a reliable camera setup consisting of a 50MP main sensor with PDAF and a 2MP macro lens, alongside a 16MP front-facing shooter. It runs MyOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box. Powering the package is a massive 6,210mAh dual-cell battery supporting 80W fast wired charging and Bypass Charging to supply power directly to the board while gaming.
