Apple has officially expanded its lineup of compact desktop computers with the launch of the new Mac Mini powered by the M5 Pro chip, alongside the standard Mac Mini M6. Designed for creative professionals and power users, this compact workstation brings high-end CPU and GPU performance, expanded memory choices, and fast connectivity features to handle demanding workloads.
Price in Nepal and Availability
The official Apple Mac Mini M5 Pro price in Nepal starts at Rs. 329,999 for the base configuration equipped with 24GB of unified memory and a 512GB SSD.
Performance and Hardware Configurations
Under the hood, the Mac Mini M5 Pro is offered in two main chip variations. The entry-level version features a 15-core CPU paired with a 16-core GPU. For heavier workloads, the higher-tier variant upgrades to an 18-core CPU and a 20-core GPU. Both chip options incorporate a 16-core Neural Engine along with dedicated Neural Accelerators integrated into the GPU cores.
This extra processing muscle makes the machine well-suited for resource-intensive operations such as 3D graphics rendering, high-resolution video editing, app development, and scientific computing. Running on macOS 27, the desktop fully leverages Apple Intelligence tools for system-wide AI productivity, content editing, and automated workflows.
Memory, Storage, and Connectivity
Memory configurations start at 24GB of unified memory paired with 512GB of SSD storage, with maximum configurations reaching up to 64GB of memory and 8TB of storage depending on the selected chip variant. Because the unified memory is shared across processing cores and cannot be upgraded after purchase, choosing the right configuration initially is essential for managing large projects or local AI models.
In terms of display and input options, the desktop supports up to three external displays. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread networking. The front panel features two USB-C ports (USB 3 up to 10Gbps) and a 3.5mm headphone jack, while the rear houses three Thunderbolt 5 ports, an HDMI port, and an Ethernet connection. Standard models ship with 2.5Gb Ethernet, with an optional 10Gb Ethernet upgrade available for faster wired network setups.
