Next-Gen Display: ProLED XDR with Touch
Apple has officially expanded its professional laptop family with the global debut of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro equipped with ProLED XDR displays. Arriving just a day after the 14-inch MacBook Pro M6 announcement, these upgraded pro machines bring tandem OLED technology and touchscreen interactivity to Apple's Mac lineup for the very first time.
The centerpiece of this update is the move from mini-LED to a tandem OLED panel that Apple calls ProLED XDR. This transition delivers deeper blacks, higher contrast, and vibrant highlights. The panel boasts a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio, supports P3 and Adobe RGB color gamuts, and offers up to 1,000 nits of sustained full-screen brightness. For HDR media and outdoor SDR usage, peak brightness reaches up to 2,000 nits. Dynamic movement is handled by ProMotion technology, featuring an adaptive refresh rate from 10Hz to 120Hz.
Screen Sizes and Touch Functionality
The 14-inch model sports a 14.2-inch panel with a resolution of 3024 × 1986, while the 16-inch variant offers a 16.3-inch screen at 3472 × 2266 resolution. Both displays deliver True Tone support, up to one billion colors, and an optional nano-texture glass finish designed to minimize reflection in high-light environments.
With touchscreen support integrated into macOS, users can directly tap, swipe through web pages, pinch to zoom into photos, drag assets across applications, and use touch controls within supported creative software. Traditional keyboard and trackpad inputs remain fully accessible.
Refined Design, Dynamic Island, and M5 Series Chips
Alongside the display changes, Apple has engineered a thinner and lighter chassis. The camera cutout notch has been replaced by the Dynamic Island, which highlights system indicators, Live Activities, and Siri AI interactions without interrupting your workflow. Performance is powered by the M5 Pro and M5 Max processors.
Expected Price in Nepal and Availability
The new MacBook Pro with ProLED XDR Display is now available globally. Official availability and pricing for the Nepali market will be confirmed once authorized distributors launch the laptops locally.
