Lenovo has officially expanded its notebook portfolio in Nepal with the launch of the IdeaPad Slim 5 (2026) lineup. The fresh release includes three distinct variants featuring Intel and AMD processors, built for users looking for a portable design alongside reliable performance for work and everyday tasks.
Sleek Design and Display Configurations
The updated IdeaPad Slim 5 collection offers two 14-inch variants and one 16-inch model, all presented in a Luna Grey finish. Each laptop features an aluminum top cover and hinge for a clean aesthetic, alongside MIL-STD certification for added durability against daily wear and tear.
Screen configurations differ across the trio. The standard 14-inch clamshell model sports a WUXGA OLED display, while the 14-inch 2-in-1 convertible features a WUXGA IPS touchscreen with versatile folding modes. Both 14-inch screens operate at a 60Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the larger 16-inch clamshell version features a WUXGA IPS panel with a smoother 120Hz refresh rate. All displays are TÜV-certified for Low Blue Light and Flicker Free viewing to help reduce eye fatigue during long sessions.
Intel Panther Lake and AMD Gorgon Lake Hardware
Performance on the two 14-inch models is driven by the Intel Core Ultra 5 322 ('Panther Lake') chip, which includes an integrated NPU delivering up to 46 TOPS of AI processing capability. The 16-inch variant runs on the AMD Ryzen AI 7 445 ('Gorgon Lake') processor, offering up to 59 TOPS of AI output alongside Radeon 840M graphics for light creative workloads.
Across all three models, memory and storage are standardized with 16GB of soldered DDR5 RAM running at 5600MT/s and a 512GB NVMe SSD. Note that memory upgrades are not supported due to the soldered configuration.
Battery Life, Ports, and Wireless Support
Powering each laptop is a 60Wh battery paired with a 65W USB Type-C power adapter. Physical port options on all models consist of two USB Type-C ports, two USB Type-A ports, an HDMI port, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. However, the 16-inch AMD version benefits from faster USB Type-C connections and HDMI 2.1, whereas the 14-inch Intel variants utilize USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C and HDMI 1.4b.
For wireless connections, all three units include Bluetooth 5.4 support. Wi-Fi 7 is available on the 16-inch AMD model and the 14-inch 2-in-1 edition, while the standard 14-inch clamshell laptop relies on Wi-Fi 6.
