Infinix has officially launched its latest gaming-focused smartphone, the Infinix GT 50 Pro. Bringing noticeable improvements over last year's GT 30 Pro, the new handset brings enhanced performance, upgraded thermals featuring a dedicated liquid cooling setup, and better software support, alongside a subtle downgrade in the camera department.
Design and Display
The GT 50 Pro maintains the boxy aesthetic of its predecessor while adding 10 grams to its total weight. On the back, it retains the signature RGB lighting alongside a new transparent section at the bottom that reveals the internal liquid cooling setup. The device also carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash protection.
Up front, it features a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution (1208 x 2644 pixels) and an 85% screen-to-body ratio. The panel offers a variable refresh rate from 30Hz to 144Hz for smoother visuals. Outdoor visibility reaches up to 1,600 nits under High Brightness Mode (HBM), while peak local brightness hits up to 4,500 nits during HDR playback.
Performance and Thermals
Powering the GT 50 Pro is the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate chipset, featuring an all-big-core CPU design. On AnTuTu 11, it scores 1,808,355 points, exceeding the 1,538,799 score of the Dimensity 8350 Ultimate found in the GT 30 Pro. It is configured with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage.
To maintain peak sustained performance, Infinix introduced its 'HydroFlow Liquid Cooling Architecture.' This setup incorporates an active micro-pump circulation mechanism providing a 6,437 mm² heat dissipation area, a 7,700 mm² vapor chamber, and a bladeless piezoelectric plate for high-pressure internal airflow. An optional external cooling accessory is also available. According to Infinix, this thermal design allows for 144fps gameplay on titles such as MLBB, Free Fire, CODM, Blood Strike, Arena Breakout, and Standoff 2.
Software, Triggers, and Camera
The smartphone runs on XOS 16 based on Android 16. Infinix promises 3 major Android version updates and 5 years of security updates—an improvement from the 2+3 year plan offered previously.
For gamers, the GT 50 Pro upgrades its dual pressure-sensitive shoulder zones. Configurable through the XArena application, these triggers support up to 8 mapping points and 10 levels of pressure sensitivity. They can also perform extra system shortcuts, such as taking screenshots, screen recording, or zooming in the camera app.
Regarding optics, Infinix has adjusted the camera configuration, replacing the 108MP primary sensor used on the previous model.
