Finding a reliable budget laptop under NPR 60,000 in Nepal can be challenging due to varying price-to-performance ratios. At this price point, laptops typically feature Intel Celeron or Core i3 processors, though Ryzen 5 or i5 options appear very rarely. Due to recent increases in memory prices, most models settle for 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD. Displays generally offer Full HD resolution with 45% NTSC color coverage. While stretching your budget to NPR 70,000 yields noticeably better performance, these models fit basic computing needs well.
2. Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 14AMN8
Taking the second spot is the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 14AMN8. It is powered by an AMD Athlon 7120U processor, paired with 8GB of DDR5 RAM and a 256GB NVMe SSD. Note that the RAM is soldered to the board, meaning future memory upgrades are not possible.
The laptop features a 14-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with a 60Hz refresh rate, 250 nits peak brightness, and 45% NTSC color coverage. Weighing just 1.37kg, it is highly portable for students and professionals. It houses a 42Wh battery and includes a 65W fast charger, making it a dependable pick for web browsing, video streaming, and office work.
1. Dell Wyse 5470
Our top recommendation is the Dell Wyse 5470, equipped with an Intel Celeron N4100 processor featuring 4 cores, 4 threads, and a boost clock up to 2.4GHz. It includes 8GB of single-channel DDR4 RAM (running at 2400 MT/s) and a 256GB SSD. Since 8GB is the maximum supported capacity, RAM upgrades are not supported.
Up front, it boasts a 14-inch Full HD IPS LCD display rather than a lower-quality TN screen, ensuring wider viewing angles. The panel operates at 60Hz with 250 nits brightness and 45% NTSC color gamut. This device excels at basic tasks like Microsoft Office work, web browsing, and media consumption. However, users seeking lightweight gaming or heavier workloads should consider upgrading to the NPR 70,000 category.
