Tribhuvan University (TU) students will now be able to receive their academic certificates and official university documents directly at their doorsteps through the national postal network. A formal agreement establishing this doorstep delivery initiative was signed on Tuesday between the university administration and the Department of Postal Services.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by TU Registrar Dr. Rabindra Shiwakoti and the Director General of the Department of Postal Services, Manmaya Bhattarai Pangeni, during an event held at the Registrar's Office in Kirtipur.
Barcode Tracking and Secure Delivery
According to the 22-point agreement, academic credentials and official correspondence issued by various university divisions will be dispatched securely. Deliveries will rely on students' provided contact numbers and complete mailing addresses. To ensure systematic handling and real-time monitoring, all packages will be registered in the Postal Tracking System (PITS) using individual tracking barcodes. This monitoring feature allows TU to confirm whether documents successfully reach their designated recipients.
Official Remarks
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Registrar Dr. Shiwakoti expressed great satisfaction, noting that a long-standing objective to link university services with the postal infrastructure and bring certificate delivery directly to students' homes has finally been realized.
Similarly, Director General Pangeni highlighted that the postal service acts as a vital bridge connecting citizens with state institutions. She expressed happiness that the department has been entrusted with the responsibility of delivering essential public educational documents directly to people's residences.
