Samsung has officially expanded its display portfolio by introducing the 2027 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup. Tailored to suit various gaming preferences, the newly announced range includes four distinct models: the high-speed 27-inch Odyssey G6 alongside the high-resolution OLED G9, OLED G8, and OLED G7 screens.
Samsung Odyssey G6: Built for Competitive Gaming
Designed primarily for esports and fast-paced competitive titles, the 27-inch Odyssey G6 incorporates a Fast IPS panel running natively at QHD resolution with a 600Hz refresh rate. By activating its Dual Mode, gamers can push the refresh rate up to an extreme 1,100Hz at HD resolution. The monitor also features a 1ms response time to reduce motion blur during rapid in-game action.
OLED Series: G9, G8, and G7 Specifications
For players focused on vibrant contrast and higher display resolutions, Samsung's new OLED models boast an ultra-fast 0.03ms GtG response time. The expansive 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9 combines a QD-OLED panel with DQHD resolution and a native 360Hz refresh rate, capable of reaching 720Hz at Dual HD using Dual Mode.
The 32-inch OLED G8 provides flexible performance through three distinct operational modes: 4K at 360Hz, QHD at 520Hz, and FHD at 680Hz. It also comes equipped with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible support to prevent screen tearing. Meanwhile, the 42-inch OLED G7 delivers an immersive view via a curved 4K OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate.
HDR Features and Connectivity Options
Samsung is bringing HDR10+ GAMING across the entire 2027 Odyssey range to adjust color and contrast based on game content. The company has partnered with Activision Blizzard to feature this integration in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, with plans to extend support to over 20 AAA games.
Regarding ports, the OLED G8 offers extensive connectivity options, including DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20, two HDMI ports, a USB hub, KVM switch support, and a USB-C port capable of up to 98W Power Delivery.
Pricing and Market Availability
Samsung has not revealed official pricing for the 2027 Odyssey monitors yet, noting that launch timing and costs will vary by region. The 27-inch Odyssey G6 is slated for a global release in the second half of 2026, while official release dates for the OLED G9, G8, and G7 have not been finalized.
