POCO has officially debuted its latest midrange smartphone, the POCO X8s, in global markets. Positioned as a compact power-packed device, it caters to users seeking a smaller form factor without sacrificing display quality, camera performance, or fast charging capabilities.
Sleek Design and Display
Unlike many modern smartphones with massive displays, the POCO X8s offers a pocket-friendly footprint measuring 151.1 × 71.8 × 8.06 mm and weighing 187 grams. Built with a micro-curved aluminum frame, it is available in Blue, Black, and White colorways, and features an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
On the front, the phone boasts a 6.35-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2656 × 1220 pixels) and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+ for an enhanced viewing experience, reaching a impressive peak brightness of 3,500 nits for outdoor readability. POCO Shield Glass protects the panel from scratches and minor drops.
Performance and Battery
Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm's 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. To maintain performance during heavy gaming sessions, it includes a 3D IceLoop cooling system. Software duties are handled by Xiaomi HyperOS 3.
Despite its smaller size, the phone packs a massive 6,330mAh silicon-carbon battery. It supports 100W wired HyperCharge for rapid top-ups alongside 22.5W wired reverse charging to juice up external accessories.
Cameras and Connectivity
For photography, the rear setup comprises a 50MP Light Fusion 800 primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 50MP telephoto camera, and an 8MP ultrawide lens. Selfies and video calls are handled by a 20MP front camera.
Additional features include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and an IR blaster.
Price and Availability in Nepal
Globally, the POCO X8s comes in two storage variants. The standard 8GB + 256GB version is priced at USD 399, while the top-tier 12GB + 512GB option carries an early-bird price of USD 499. While an official Nepal launch date is yet to be announced, we expect the POCO X8s price in Nepal to start at around NPR 60,799 for the base 8GB/256GB model upon arrival.
