Nothing has officially introduced its newest true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds, the Nothing Ear (3a), to the Nepali market. Positioned directly below the flagship Ear (3), this model keeps the brand's iconic transparent aesthetic while adding key improvements in battery performance, active noise cancellation, call clarity, and voice recording functionality.
Design and Audio Performance
The Nothing Ear (3a) retains a lightweight stem-style transparent design. Each earbud weighs just 4.53 grams, while the accompanying charging case weighs 40.92 grams for easy portability. Alongside the standard Black, White, and Yellow color options, Nothing has introduced a new Pink finish. An IP54 dust and splash resistance rating protects the earbuds against sweat and light precipitation.
Audio is powered by a 12mm dynamic driver featuring a PMI and TUP diaphragm designed to deliver deeper bass, balanced mid-range tones, and clear vocals. The Ear (3a) supports Hi-Res wireless audio over the LDAC codec, alongside AAC and SBC codecs for broad device compatibility.
Audio Snapshot and Smart Features
A standout additions to the Nothing Ear (3a) is the Audio Snapshot feature. Using a touch gesture, users can record meetings, voice memos, or phone calls directly from the earbuds. Recordings are held on 32MB of built-in storage before syncing to the Nothing X app, where users can transcribe them using AI.
For voice calls, a six-microphone array (three on each earbud) works with Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) to diminish background noise. The earbuds also deliver Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) up to 45dB with an Adaptive mode that adjusts automatically based on ambient surroundings. A Transparency Mode and a dedicated low-latency gaming mode are also included.
Connectivity, Battery Life, and Price in Nepal
The Ear (3a) supports Bluetooth 6, dual-device pairing, Google Fast Pair, and Microsoft Swift Pair. Customizing touch actions, EQ profiles, and noise cancellation levels is managed through the Nothing X app on Android and iOS devices.
Each earbud carries a 55mAh battery, while the case packs a 500mAh capacity. With ANC turned off, the earbuds last up to 10 hours on a single charge and up to 42 hours total with the case. With ANC enabled, users get up to 6 hours on the earbuds and up to 25 hours total with the case.
