The Ministry of Home Affairs, representing the Government of Nepal, has formally suspended the National Private and Boarding Schools’ Association Nepal (N-PABSAN) until further notice. The government executed this disciplinary action under the regulatory framework of the National Directive Act, 2018, after the organization repeatedly failed to align with official requirements.
According to an official notification published by the ministry, N-PABSAN repeatedly neglected instructions issued under Section 5 of the National Directive Act, 2018. In addition to ignoring these directives, the leadership of N-PABSAN was found to be operating contrary to its official constitution—which had been formally approved by the Government of Nepal—and acting against the foundational objectives of the association.
Background and Regulatory Action
The decision follows previous attempts by the government to bring the association into compliance. The Home Ministry had organized a discussion with relevant stakeholders on Bhadra 23, 2083 BS, directing them to function within the scope of the National Directive Act, 2018, and to fulfill the terms of an earlier directive issued on Kartik 12, 2082.
However, because the association did not comply with these instructions, the ministry exercised its authority under Section 6, Sub-section (2) of the Act, resulting in the immediate suspension of N-PABSAN for failing to follow government orders.
