Lenovo has officially expanded its Legion tablet lineup with the launch of the Legion Y700 AI (2026) in China. Built specifically for mobile gamers and power users, the compact tablet combines flagship-tier processing power with a high-refresh-rate display and a portable footprint.
Design and Build
The Legion Y700 AI retains the portable design characteristic of the Y700 series. It features a slim 6.5mm metal body with rounded corners and weighs approximately 298 grams, making it comfortable to hold during extended gaming sessions. Available colors include Ice White, Cloud Purple, and Cloud Tide Purple. The rear panel incorporates Legion branding alongside a customizable RGB lighting element around the single rear camera, which Lenovo calls the "Legion Halo". Lenovo has not specified an official IP rating for dust or water resistance.
Display and Audio
On the front, the device houses an 8.4-inch 2.5K OLED display with a 165Hz variable refresh rate and up to 3,400Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate. The panel reaches up to 4,000 nits of local peak brightness and features 3,840Hz PWM dimming, Dolby Vision support, DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and a Real RGB pixel arrangement with factory color calibration. Audio and tactile feedback are handled by dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support and two X-axis linear vibration motors.
Performance and Cooling
Powering the tablet is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5T RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 onboard storage. To maintain sustained performance during heavy gaming, Lenovo has integrated its third-generation "Qiankun" cooling architecture, which includes a large 15,000mm² vapor chamber.
Cameras, Battery, and Software
The tablet comes equipped with a 50MP main rear camera and an 8MP front-facing sensor for video calling. It packs a 7,470mAh battery that supports 68W fast charging. On the software front, it runs Lenovo's ZUI 16 interface based on Android 16. Connectivity features include 5G with dual-SIM dual-standby support, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. Users can also pair the tablet with external accessories such as a stylus, game controller, or arcade dock.
Price and Availability
In China, the base 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model of the Lenovo Legion Y700 AI is priced at CNY 5,500 (around USD 820). Details regarding official availability and pricing for the Nepali market have not yet been announced.
