Navigating the entry-level smartphone market in 2026 has become increasingly challenging. Rising costs for essential components like memory and storage have pushed phones that once cost around NPR 20,000 (US$150) up toward the NPR 35,000 (US$250) threshold. Amid these changing market dynamics, Honor has launched the Honor X6d 5G in Nepal for Rs. 29,999, offering modern 5G connectivity and practical functionality for budget-conscious buyers.
Unboxing and Accessories
Honor includes a standard set of accessories in the retail box. Alongside the phone, you get a 15W power adapter and a USB Type-C charging cable, eliminating the need to buy a power brick separately. The box also contains a protective clear case, a SIM ejector tool, and standard user documentation.
Design and Build
The Honor X6d adopts a practical and minimalist design aesthetic. It features a flat plastic frame paired with slightly curved edges for a comfortable handfeel. The back panel exhibits a matte finish with a light-reflecting wave texture that effectively minimizes fingerprint smudges. Measuring 7.89mm in thickness and weighing 186 grams, the phone feels slim, lightweight, and well-balanced during daily use.
For biometric security, the side-mounted fingerprint scanner is quick and conveniently placed where your thumb naturally rests. The device also features an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, providing basic protection against light rain and accidental splashes.
Display Quality
The device sports a large 6.75-inch LCD display, providing generous screen real estate for video streaming and web browsing. The smooth 90Hz refresh rate improves user interface fluidness and scrolling animations. However, the primary trade-off is its HD+ resolution, which results in softer text and visuals compared to Full HD+ panels. Peak brightness sits at around 450 nits, making it clear indoors, though visibility under intense direct sunlight can be limited.
Software, Performance, and Everyday Use
Out of the box, the Honor X6d runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. The user experience is fluid and lightweight, offering clean animation effects and native integration for Google Gemini as the default assistant. While there are a few pre-installed bloatware applications to clean up initially, the software performance remains solid.
Equipped with 4GB of RAM, the smartphone handles everyday social media browsing, messaging, and light multitasking without issues, though heavy background processing will reveal its budget hardware limits. Combined with a mono speaker, basic camera setup, and 15W charging speed, the X6d makes clear compromises—yet at Rs. 29,999, it stands out as an accessible and comfortable 5G option in Nepal.
