Following the earlier release of the budget-friendly HMD Vibe2 5G, HMD has expanded its lineup with the upgraded HMD Vibe2 Pro. The new model improves on key areas such as display resolution, processing power, camera capabilities, and charging speeds while retaining the massive battery that defined its predecessor.
Design and Display
The HMD Vibe2 Pro comes with a clean design, featuring a flat frame and a dual-tone finish on the back panel. It measures 168.4 × 76.3 × 8.3mm and weighs 197 grams. Buyers can choose from three color options: Silver Mist, Aqua Green, and Cosmic Purple.
For visuals, the handset sports a 6.78-inch LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. This offers noticeably sharper detail and smoother scrolling compared to the standard Vibe2's HD+ display.
Performance, Software, and Features
Under the hood, the device is driven by the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6300 octa-core processor. It is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card. On the software front, it runs Android 16 out of the box, backed by two years of promised security updates. It also includes Indus AI by Sarvam, supporting over 20 Indian languages.
Biometric security is handled by a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Additional hardware features include stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, 5G support, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
Cameras and Battery Life
In the camera department, the Vibe2 Pro steps up to a 64MP Sony IMX682 main rear sensor accompanied by a 2MP macro lens. Upfront, it houses a 13MP camera for selfies and video calls.
Powering the smartphone is a large 6,000mAh battery. Unlike the standard version's 15W charging, the Pro variant supports faster 33W charging, and a compatible charging adapter is included in the box.
Price and Availability in Nepal
In India, the HMD Vibe2 Pro is priced at INR 14,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model, while the 8GB + 128GB variant is set at INR 16,999. Sales begin on Flipkart starting October 8. Although official Nepal launch details have not been confirmed yet, the phone is expected to start around NPR 23,999 if it becomes available in Nepal.
