DJI has officially introduced the Osmo 360 II as the direct successor to last year's Osmo 360. Designed for creators and adventure enthusiasts, the new 360-degree camera brings substantial upgrades, including higher-resolution 8K video capture, enhanced low-light processing, modular replaceable lenses, and extended battery life.
Design and Durability
Maintaining a familiar compact and vertical design, the Osmo 360 II is slightly larger to accommodate internal upgrades, measuring 61 x 36.3 x 81mm and weighing 183 grams. For controls and live previews, it features a 2-inch front-facing touchscreen. Outdoor creators will appreciate its rugged build with an IP68 rating, enabling waterproof performance at depths down to 10 meters without needing an external housing.
A major practical addition is the inclusion of user-replaceable lens elements. Because 360-degree lenses protrude on both sides and are susceptible to scratches, this update allows users to swap damaged glass without having to replace the entire camera body.
Camera Capabilities and Features
The Osmo 360 II features dual 1/1.1-inch sensors paired with an f/1.9 aperture, capable of capturing up to 14.5 stops of dynamic range to retain details in challenging lighting conditions. The primary highlight is native 8K video recording at up to 60fps in 360-degree mode. For traditional action camera shooting, switching to single-lens mode offers video up to 4K at 60fps, while a dedicated Boost mode provides 4K recording at 120fps for high-frame-rate action or slow-motion footage.
Imaging features also include AI SuperNight 2.0 for improved low-light recording, a Subject Follow feature for automated subject tracking in 360-degree videos, and high-resolution 120MP HDR panoramic photos.
Battery and Storage
Powering the camera is a larger 2,150mAh battery (up from the 1,950mAh cell on its predecessor), which supports 27W fast charging. Under standard testing, it delivers up to 100 minutes of continuous 8K/30fps recording. Storage needs are met by 105GB of built-in internal memory alongside a microSD card slot for expandable storage on longer trips.
