Job Description

Akasha Life is seeking a visionary Architect to join an international, multi-disciplinary team developing a spiritually grounded site Master Plan and building complex in Gokarneshwor. This part-time position (50% workload) offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with Nepali and European professionals, merging rich architectural traditions—such as Newari, Buddhist, and Daoist styles—with modern elements and sustainable construction techniques.

Initially, the position focuses on designing and supervising the construction of a specialized Restaurant and Training Center for Sustainable Hospitality in Suntakhan-3, Gokarneshwor. You will also participate in broader site planning and eco-friendly land-use activities. The role is based on a 1-year renewable contract requiring regular presence at our Suntakhan office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed architectural designs, master planning elements, and construction drawings for the hospitality training facility and future site structures.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with contractors and provide direct on-site supervision during construction.
  • Act as an liaison with local government bodies, community stakeholders, and organizational partners.
  • Track project timelines, monitor construction quality, and regularly report on site progress.
  • Collaborate effectively within a diverse, international team while self-managing project workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional architecture experience, including proven work in sustainable design, eco-materials, or land planning.
  • Demonstrated passion for spiritual architecture and blending traditional Nepali/Chinese styles with modern building methods.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Nepali.
  • Strong organizational abilities and comfort working alongside individuals from varied cultural backgrounds.
  • Personal alignment with the goals and ethos of Akasha Life and Akasha Academy.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Practical leadership experience, project management skills, or background knowledge in green tourism and holistic living.
