Tribhuvan University (TU) is set to hold its general and annual-day Senate meeting on Thursday, Ashoj 22. The session will commence at 9:00 AM under the chairmanship of Education and Sports Minister Sasmit Pokharel, who serves as the university's Pro-Chancellor and Senate Vice-Chairperson.
Key Agendas and Budget Approval
A primary objective of the upcoming assembly is the presentation and formal approval of Tribhuvan University's policies, programs, and financial budget for the fiscal year 2083/84. Registrar Dr. Rabindra Shiwakoti is scheduled to present these financial and policy proposals before the Senate members.
Additionally, the Senate will review proposals aimed at approving various TU rules, regulations, operational procedures, work management systems, and administrative directives. The meeting will also consider endorsing a nomination for the TU Executive Council alongside appointing the Chairperson and members for the Appeal Commission.
64th Grace List and Degree Conferment
In line with annual-day proceedings, academic degrees will be formally conferred to graduating students following recommendations submitted by the Deans of various university faculties and institutes. Furthermore, the assembly is slated to officially approve the university's 64th Grace List.
Meeting Schedule and Order of Events
TU Rector and Senate Member-Secretary Prof. Dr. Anjana Maharjan Singh will facilitate the proceedings of the session. The meeting will begin with a welcome address from Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, followed by a formal speech from Pro-Chancellor Pokharel. Following a vote of thanks delivered by Rector Singh, Minister Pokharel will deliver the concluding remarks to officially close the Senate assembly.
