Samsung's midrange lineup for 2026 includes the premium Galaxy A57 alongside the more affordable Galaxy A37 5G. While the Galaxy A57 keeps a familiar design language, it introduces key refinements in physical ergonomics, internal hardware, and software integration.
Sleeker Ergonomics and Display Features
The most noticeable physical change in the Galaxy A57 is its slimmer and lighter build. Measuring 6.9mm thick and weighing 179 grams, it is significantly lighter to hold compared to the Galaxy A56, which measured 7.4mm in thickness and weighed 198 grams. The smartphone maintains a glass back and front anchored by an aluminum frame, complete with IP68 dust and water sealing. Buyers can choose from three color variants: Lilac, Icyblue, and Navy.
For visuals, the Galaxy A57 sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display offering accurate color rendition, HDR10+ playback, and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate (without LTPO). The panel features a pixel density of 385 PPI, Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, and maintains bezel dimensions similar to its predecessor.
Upgraded Chipset and Thermals
Performance sees an upgrade with the shift to the Exynos 1680 processor, replacing the Exynos 1580 built into the A56. Graphics processing is handled by the new Xclipse 550 GPU (upgraded from the Xclipse 540), delivering improved gaming performance alongside a 13% larger vapor chamber for thermal management. Samsung pairs the chip with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and internal storage configurations reaching up to 512GB, although the 512GB version is currently not offered in Nepal.
Software and AI Enhancements
Out of the box, the phone runs One UI 8.5 layered over Android 16. The software brings visual updates alongside Galaxy AI features such as AI Select for quick text extraction, Voice Transcription in the Voice Recorder app for calls and voicemails, and enhanced search functionality. Samsung commits to 6 years of major Android OS upgrades and security updates for the device.
Camera Capabilities and Battery
The camera setup is unchanged from the previous generation. It carries a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS, paired with a 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera and a 5MP f/2.4 macro lens. Front-facing shots are handled by a 12MP selfie camera. While the 50MP sensor offers 2x crop zoom capabilities, the phone lacks an optical telephoto camera—a notable omission when pitted against rivals like the Nothing Phone 4a, Vivo V60, and Honor 400 Pro. Battery performance relies on a standard 5,000mAh cell with 45W wired charging support.
