Realme is undergoing its biggest software transition yet as it moves away from Realme UI to adopt OPPO's ColorOS, beginning with the Android 17-based ColorOS 17 update. By unifying development under a single software interface, the company aims to streamline operating system updates, accelerate rollout speeds, and maintain a consistent software experience across all price tiers, from flagship GT series devices to entry-level Note models.
What ColorOS 17 Brings
Since Realme UI has shared its primary codebase with ColorOS for several years, the migration is a natural step. ColorOS 17 introduces a revamped visual design, significantly smoother animations, overall performance optimizations, and a suite of new AI-powered tools designed to improve daily usability.
Rollout Timeline
The official deployment of ColorOS 17 is set to commence on October 29, 2026. The update will roll out in structured phases, extending through the first quarter of 2027 for remaining eligible smartphones.
