POCO has officially launched its newest performance-focused smartphone, the POCO X8 Pro, in Nepal. Built for power users, the handset brings MediaTek's Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, a vibrant 1.5K display, and a massive 6,500mAh battery within an 8.2mm slim profile.
Display and Build Quality
On the front, the POCO X8 Pro boasts a large 6.95-inch 1.5K OLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It comes equipped with 3840Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain and reaches up to 3500 nits of peak brightness for easy outdoor visibility. The screen offers punchy colors and fast touch response, making it well-suited for high-framerate gaming.
The build consists of a glass front paired with an aluminum frame, giving it a solid feel that improves upon previous X-series generations. Furthermore, the device is certified with IP68 and IP69K dust and water resistance ratings. A special "Iron Man Edition" was also announced globally, though it is currently not available in the Nepali market.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the POCO X8 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset. The octa-core processor features Cortex-A725 performance cores reaching clock speeds of up to 3.4GHz, while graphics are managed by the Mali-G720 MC8 GPU. It is paired with fast LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 internal storage, providing stable frame rates and good heat management during heavy gaming sessions.
Software duties are handled by HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Xiaomi has committed to providing 4 years of major Android updates alongside 6 years of security patches for this phone.
Camera and Battery
The rear camera arrangement features a 50MP Sony IMX822 main sensor that supports video capture up to 4K at 60 fps, complemented by an 8MP ultrawide camera capable of 1080p recording. For selfies, there is a 20MP front camera that records 1080p video at 60 fps. While capable for everyday photos and casual photography, it lacks a dedicated telephoto camera for zoomed portraits.
Battery life is handled by a large 6,500mAh cell that comfortably lasts through heavy usage. The phone supports 100W wired fast charging for fast power top-ups, as well as 27W reverse-wired charging to charge other peripherals.

The official price of the POCO X8 Pro in Nepal starts at NPR 69,999 for the 8GB + 256GB storage variant, while the 12GB + 512GB configuration is priced at NPR 76,999. The device can be purchased across authorized Xiaomi retail outlets throughout the country.
