Nothing has expanded its audio lineup with the launch of the Nothing Headphone (1) Pro. Building on last year's original Headphone (1), this pro variant introduces a sophisticated triple-driver setup, upgraded Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and professional studio tuning developed alongside London-based Metropolis Studios.
Refined Transparent Design and Ergonomics
The Headphone (1) Pro maintains Nothing's signature see-through aesthetic while elevating build quality. Its earcups showcase 9H Panda Glass panels that offer a clear view of the internal drivers while ensuring scratch and shatter resistance. The primary frame is crafted from a single block of carved aluminium, complemented by titanium alloy arms that are 45% lighter than the previous generation. Overall, the headphones weigh 327g and measure 190.2 x 174.4 x 78.0mm.
For enhanced comfort during long listening sessions, the dual-layer ear cushions are 50% softer and optimized for users wearing glasses. The headband is now 10% wider with 12% extra padding. Tactile controls return with the classic volume roller and playback paddle, alongside a customizable button via the Nothing X app for functions like triggering ChatGPT or taking camera photos. The device boasts an IP52 rating and includes a protective hardshell case lined with TPU lining.
Triple-Driver Setup and Studio-Grade Sound
The biggest advancement lies in its audio architecture. Replacing the single 40mm driver of the standard model, the Headphone (1) Pro features three dedicated drivers per earcup: a 40mm dynamic driver for bass, a 13 x 8mm precision dynamic driver for mids, and an xMEMS solid-state driver for high-frequency treble. This delivers a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz with Hi-Res Audio support over both wired and wireless connections.
A dedicated physical Flat EQ switch allows producers and audiophiles to disable extra sound processing for neutral monitoring. Additionally, users get Dynamic Spatial Audio with head tracking (including Metropolis Studios' Studio B mode), customizable EQ profiles, and Personal Sound tailoring through the Nothing X app.
Upgraded 46dB ANC and Microphones
For noise control, the Headphone (1) Pro utilizes 10 microphones in total, with 5 on each side handling the hybrid adaptive ANC system, capable of canceling up to 46dB of ambient noise. Sound leakage is minimized through an 8mm silicone baffle wall and two-layer cushion system. A natural-sounding Transparency mode is also available for ambient awareness, along with 4 dedicated microphones for calls.
