The Medical Education Commission (MEC) has published the official fee details for medical education programs for the academic year 2083. The updated notice outlines tuition costs for undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil, and super-specialty courses offered across academic institutions in Nepal.
Undergraduate (Bachelor Level) Course Fees
According to the commission, the tuition fee for the MBBS program is fixed at NPR 41,68,090 for colleges inside the Kathmandu Valley and NPR 45,95,720 for colleges located outside the valley. The fee for the BDS program has been established at NPR 20,92,290, while B.Sc. Nursing will cost NPR 10,36,000.
A standardized fee of NPR 7,77,000 has been designated for BPT, B.Sc. MIT, B.Sc. MLT, B. Medical Microbiology, B. Medical Biochemistry, B. Pharmacy, BPH, Bachelor in Optometry, Bachelor in Perfusion Technology, and BASLP. In addition, BAMS is set at NPR 11,31,930, BNS/PBN at NPR 5,18,300, and Pharma D at NPR 6,73,400.
Postgraduate, M.Phil, and DM/MCh Program Fees
Fees for Master's level programs range from NPR 5,19,660 for M. Pharmacy up to NPR 2,381,760 for MD/MS Clinical Science subjects and MDS programs. Master of Science (MSc) programs—including Medical Microbiology, Medical Biochemistry, MIT, and MLT—have a set fee of NPR 757,830. For MD (Basic Science) programs, which include forensic medicine, the fee is NPR 1,085,870.
Furthermore, the commission has fixed the tuition for M.Phil in Clinical Psychology at Rs. 304,220, while all DM and MCh super-specialty courses carry a uniform fee of Rs. 2,590,000.
