Dell has expanded its budget business notebook lineup in Nepal with the introduction of the Dell Pro 15 Essential. Designed for workplace productivity and general daily tasks, this new laptop packs an entry-level AMD Ryzen processor along with a surprisingly smooth 120Hz display into a clean, utilitarian package.
Design and Build
Offered exclusively in a Carbon Black finish, the laptop carries a practical aesthetic tailored for professional environments. It features a durable plastic body measuring up to 18.99mm in thickness and weighing 1.90 kg. Input is handled by a full-size keyboard complete with a dedicated numeric keypad. Security options include a hardware TPM 2.0 chip and a Kensington lock slot, though biometric features like a fingerprint scanner or IR camera are not included.
Display and Multimedia
Up front, the notebook boasts a 15.6-inch FHD IPS panel with an anti-glare coating. A stand-out inclusion at this price level is its 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smoother scrolling compared to traditional 60Hz panels. The display delivers up to 250 nits of peak brightness and 45% NTSC color gamut coverage, making it suitable for standard office work and video conferencing rather than color-critical tasks. Above the display sits a 720p HD camera alongside dual array microphones for online calls.
Performance and Storage
Powering the device is AMD's Mendocino-series Ryzen 5 7520U processor, built on a 6nm process with 4 cores. It easily handles daily office software, web browsing, and light multitasking. Graphics performance relies on the integrated Radeon 610M GPU. The laptop comes equipped with 8GB of soldered single-channel LPDDR5 RAM and a fast 512GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD. On the software side, it runs Windows 11 Home alongside Dell Optimizer and a trial for Microsoft Office.
Ports, Wireless, and Battery
Physical connectivity options consist of one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, one USB 2.0 Type-A port, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, an HDMI 1.4 port for external displays, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. An Ethernet port and SD card slot are omitted. Wireless connectivity relies on Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. Backup is provided by a 41Wh battery paired with a 65W charging adapter, delivering an estimated 5 to 7 hours of mixed usage.
Price in Nepal and Availability
