iPhone 17 Price Receives a Drop in Nepal
The iPhone 17 has been available in the Nepali market for over a year, and its base storage model has recently received a price reduction. The 256GB variant of the iPhone 17 is now priced at NPR 164,999 following an NPR 8,500 discount. On the other hand, the higher-capacity 512GB version remains at its original price of NPR 215,699. Buyers can purchase the phone across Nepal through Apple-authorized stores as well as more than 1,000 mobile retail outlets nationwide.
Display and Design Upgrades
Apple has finally brought a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate to the standard lineup. The iPhone 17 features a larger 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR LTPO OLED display that intelligently scales between 1Hz and 120Hz depending on user interaction. Screen brightness sees a noticeable upgrade to 3,000 nits peak brightness, compared to 2,000 nits on the iPhone 16. Protectivity is handled by Ceramic Shield 2, which Apple claims is three times more scratch-resistant than the previous generation. It also introduces an anti-reflective coating alongside an Always-On display mode that dims down to 1Hz to show widgets, time, and Live Activities.
The physical design stays refined with a polished, aerospace-grade aluminum frame. The rear glass back features a subtle "Magichromatic" shimmer finish available in five shades: Black, Lavender, Mist Blue, Sage, and White. Furthermore, the chassis incorporates both the Action button and the dedicated Camera Control button.
A19 Chipset and Memory Specs
Powering the device is Apple's new A19 processor, built on a 3rd-generation 3nm architecture. The chip houses a 6-core CPU (consisting of 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores), a 5-core GPU featuring dedicated Neural Accelerators, and a 16-core Neural Engine. Apple notes that this processor delivers 1.5 times faster performance compared to the A15 Bionic found in the iPhone 13 series. To support Apple Intelligence features built into iOS 26, the device includes an upgraded 8GB of RAM, up from 6GB on the preceding model.
Upgraded Dual 48MP Cameras
For photography, the iPhone 17 introduces a dual 48MP "Fusion" camera setup. The main sensor keeps an f/1.6 aperture with an optical-quality 2x telephoto crop option. Meanwhile, the ultra-wide lens gets a major upgrade from 12MP to 48MP resolution with an f/2.2 aperture, delivering sharper wide-angle images.
